Dr. Michelle Dougherty is a Board Certified Chiropractic Physician who serves the communities of Naperville, Plainfield, Aurora, Oswego & Bolingbrook.
Dr. Michelle Dougherty hails from Virginia Beach, VA and grew up in a military family living overseas in Germany and Italy where she studied ballet for ten years and was actively involved in various sports. Before heading off for college she was involved in an accident that left her with complications after a couple surgeries. Since then she had suffered from recurrent tonsillitis, sinus problems, and knee pain until she discovered Chiropractic.
Dr. Dougherty earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biobehavioral Health from Pennsylvania State University where she met her husband. Her calling for Chiropractic came to fruition her final year at Penn State when she learned about alternative healthcare approaches that work with the body and that there was in fact a name…a profession…a way of life that coincided with her philosophy that was instilled in her at a young age. She quickly understood that Chiropractic was more than just a back/neck pain/headache remedy but it works to help restore function to the organs, glands, and muscles by removing nerve interference so that the brain can effectively communicate with the rest of the body.
Dr. Dougherty went on to attend world-renowned Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA and earned her Doctorate in 2006. She has advanced studies in pediatric care, perinatal care, functional endocrinology, and nutrition. Selected to serve on a Clinic Abroad mission trip to Brazil, she helped underserved locals without access to medical care. Her group worked on roughly 5000 people as young as 3 months old to 92 years old with conditions from colic to chronic sciatica. "That experience changed my life and I knew from that time on, I was meant to do this!"
Realizing that every person is individually unique, she practices different adjusting techniques to meet your needs and those of your family. Dr. Dougherty continues to serve the people of Naperville, Plainfield and the surrounding communities to help them heal from the inside out without the use of drugs or surgery. Licensed and National Board Certified, Dr. Dougherty is a member of several professional organizations including the American Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, Illinois Chiropractic Society, Illinois Prairie State Chiropractic Association, and Holistic Pediatric Alliance. She also volunteers her time giving back to the community through educational workshops and health screenings. Her passion for the circle of life is evident in her work and results with newborns, mothers-to-be as well as post-natal recovery. She is actively pursuing her Diplomate status in Chiropractic Pediatrics in a rigorous 400-hour program to include practiced-based research projects and is one of a few doctors in the area certified in the Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, which optimizes neuro-biomechanics through specific analysis and adjustment of the sacrum during pregnancy and beyond. Dr. Dougherty also specializes in the holistic treatment of women’s health issues such as: hormonal imbalance, infertility, PMS, difficult transition to menopause, and adrenal fatigue.
She attributes regular Chiropractic adjustments as her secret weapon for her active lifestyle. An avid tennis player and lover of the outdoors, she also cherishes time spent with her husband, baby boy and dog. Additionally, she helps keep her mind and body energized by incorporating a whole-food based diet, yoga, and periodic nutritional cleansing.

Dr. Carrie Voigts, a native of Belmont, Wisconsin, has been around chiropractic her entire life. Growing up on a dairy farm, she went with her parents to their chiropractic appointments from a very young age. When she started doing more physical labor on the farm, Dr. Carrie experienced firsthand how chiropractic can relieve low back pain. In addition, she suffered from migraines on an almost daily basis starting in middle school. Through specific chiropractic adjustments to the neck, her migraine frequency dissipated drastically, something medication failed to achieve. These experiences, along with a natural love of learning about the body's anatomy and physiology, led Dr. Carrie down the path to becoming a chiropractor.
Dr. Carrie graduated in 2008 Suma Cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a Bachelors of Science and a minor in psychology. She then moved to Davenport, Iowa to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic. While there, she was a teaching assistant to the Physical Diagnosis department. One of her favorite experiences while attending Palmer was participating in a clinic abroad program to Manaus, Brazil. There she had the privilege to provide relief to people who would not normally be able to receive chiropractic care. After completing many courses and electives, Dr. Carrie graduated Cum Laude from Palmer with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
Dr. Carrie has a passion for serving children and families through chiropractic and holistic, natural means. She is honored to provide quality, specialized care to Naperville and the surrounding communities.
Dr. Carrie enjoys reading, working out, and spending time outside whether it be in the form of hiking, kayaking, or playing with her dog. She also enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.
